Question from Jennifer Auld-Cameron:
We are learning to live ‘cooperatively’ with the expanding deer population. Last year I used the black mesh used for keeping birds away from vineyards, to protect some of my plants. It worked very well, except I had to keep expanding it as my plants grew. I wonder if anyone knows of a kit or hoops, or anything else that I could use to set up a structure (kind of like a mini-greenhouse maybe) that could support mesh over an entire section of a garden. Any ideas would be welcome!

Answer from Susan Muir:
Jennifer is asking about a structure to use to drape netting over a larger area in a garden. I have reused old Shelter Logic portable garage frames that can be found second hand or as a give away. These also make good simple greenhouse frames, as long as the poly is firmly attached and the structure itself is secured into the ground to withstand the strong winds.
